Android Caller ID Settings

How to configure your phone for prefix rules like *67 or *31#

Why is this important?

If you want to use PaSS to unhide your number (e.g., using *31# or *67) for specific calls, your phone’s default setting must be set to Hide number first.

If your phone is already set to “Show number”, adding an “unhide” prefix will do nothing.

How to change this setting?

This setting is part of the Android Phone app, not PaSS. The location can vary slightly depending on your phone (Samsung, Pixel, etc.), but it is usually found here:

  1. Open your standard Phone app (the one you use to dial).
  2. Tap the menu icon (three dots) usually in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Look for Calls, Calling Accounts, or Supplementary Services.
  5. Tap on the SIM card you want to configure (if you have Dual SIM).
  6. Tap Additional Settings or More Settings.
  7. Tap Caller ID.
  8. Select Hide number.

Now that your number is hidden by default, you can use PaSS to selectively unhide it for specific contacts (like your colleagues or family) by adding the appropriate prefix rule.
